I’m looking forward to photographing you and your family! Mini sessions are so much fun for me and I’m really excited to work with you.
This guide shares some helpful tips and information on what you can expect from your mini-session experience with me.
My mini-sessions are short and sweet, but I’ll spend a little more time with you if needed. Providing you with a wonderful experience is my number one priority.
If you have questions or need additional
information, please feel free to contact me.
I look forward to working with you!
You should have already received a questionnaire from me. Please take a moment to complete the questionnaire. This will help me get to know you and your family better ahead of our shoot.
At the session, I’ll be directing you the entire time, so don’t worry about what to do.
Two (2) weeks after your session, you’ll receive an email with the link to your online gallery. From there, you’ll be able to download your photos and share the gallery with your friends and family.
For family sessions, I always suggest mom to choose an outfit she feels confident and beautiful in and then have everyone's outfit coordinate from there. Plan on natural makeup that is slightly heavier than normal.
Don’t be afraid to layer your clothing. It adds texture and dimension to your outfits. This can either be a belt or necklace or if its cooler out a scarf or sweater cardigan.
Arrange your outfits ahead of time. Lay them out on a big bed, including accessories. Make sure all clothes are clean, pressed, and ready to go on hangers a few days before your session.
Decide on a palette of 3-4 colors to base your outfit on (including both pants and dresses). You want a cohesive feel, but without being too matchy. You want your outfits to compliment each other. If you are needing ideas, I suggest looking at Pinterest to find inspiration.
Things to Avoid: bold or tiny patterns, neon colors, tube socks, overly formal clothes.
Ladies - Pamper yourself by getting your hair styled and makeup done before the session. Makeup should be natural but slightly heavier than normal. Men - don’t get a hair cut the day before a session. Plan for a week before.
How long will my session last?
My mini-sessions are 20 minutes; I start and end each session on the scheduled time. I request that you arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of your session to avoid any delays in my schedule. I have multiple families booked back-to-back, and if you are late we will not be able to extend your time frame.
Do we get a copyright to all our
photos?
You’ll receive a print release with
your digital images so that you
are able to print to your heart’s
content! The only things you aren’t
able to do is edit, sell, or enter
them into contests.
Do you have a referral program?
I love referrals and it’s the biggest
honor when you share my name
with your friends and family.
If a client shares your name when
they book their session, you’ll
receive a $25 credit towards your
next session or product purchase.
